Carmarthenshire Junior Football League Tables
Teigrod Teilo 0 - Johnstown 4
A win would of secured runners up for the Teigrod, but that wasn't to be. With most of the open play dominated by the Teigrods who had the biggest percentage of an attacking game, but it was Johnstown who came away winners and surely now the contenders for runners up.
The Teigrods did everything expected of them except score and that's how it was. Johnstown capitalised on the Teigrods mistakes and came away 4 - 0 the better. It was nice to see Charlie Bleasdale back after missing the Cup Final last week, a tower of strength in defence along with Jack McGready, Huw Schofield and Jack Poulson, but 10 minutes before half time Johnstown scored their first of 4 goals, which left the Teigrods surprised after so much pressure.
Shortly after the second half started, Johnstown scored a second goal. This seemed to deflate the Teigrods and they knew it would now be a struggle. With tired legs creeping in Johnstown capitalised on two more occasions and scored. That's how the score stayed until the final whistle.
On reflection what a first season for the under 12 squad of Teigrod Teilo. They have shown character and determination and have done themselves proud. This is a team to watch in the future with the type of passing football they have played and I'm sure all the parents will be proud of their children on their achievements this year. Well done boys - see you next season!
Man of the match voted for by the players: Charlie Bleasdale.
A big thanks to all the parents, sponsors and supporters for making this season a great introduction into the Carmarthenshire League.
Teigrod Teilo 0 - Burry Port 3
J. H. Evans Under 12's Cup Final
APRIL 4th Stebonheath Park, Llanelli
The population of Llandeilo turned out in numbers to watch the Teigrod Teilo U12's claim the first major tournament medals for their up and coming junior football club. Although the runners-up spot was not what all concerned had dreamed of the night before, a good day out at sunny Stebonheath was had by all none the less.
Following a closely contested first 20 minutes Burry Port opened the scoring with a disputed goal, although the linesman raised his flag for offside this was overruled by the ref following a lengthy touch line discussion between the two officials, and despite a good shout for a Teigrod penalty and the Burry Port keeper making a great save to prevent a goal bound shot from Lewis Jones, Burry Port remained a goal ahead with minutes of the half remaining. Then came two goals in quick succession from which the Teigrod never really recovered.
Although Teigrod Teilo were the dominant team throughout the second half, they were unable to convert their chances and make up the three goal deficit, largely thanks to some resolute defending by Burry Port. The Teigrod players voted Cai Davies their man of the match on the day.
Clwb Peldroed Teigrod Teilo FC would like to thank Jess Bryer of Bryers garage, Dafydd Rhys, John Eirian Davies, & Gareth Vaughan Jones for sponsoring the cup final t-shirts, and all the supporters who helped to make this a day to remember.
The Teigrod U12's last league fixture of the season is at home (Tre Gib) on April 11th.
Teigrod Teilo 2 - 1 Loughor Rovers
TEIGRODS MISSED CHANCES
Teigrod Teilo maintained second position in the division and moved 3 points ahead of Burry Port.
From the start the Teigrods took control of the game with some good passing play throughout the team. From time to time the Teigrods defence was tested by Loughor but they stood firm. On the fifteenth minute the Teigrod broke out from defence and the ball passed with ease through the midfield and crossed from the right and eventually landed at the feet of Rhydian Thomas, who, with ease drove the ball passed the Loughor Keeper giving the Teigrods a 1 0 lead.
Throughout the remainder of the first half the Teigrods had chances to go further ahead but could not capitalise on them. At half time there wasn’t much for the Teigrods coaches to say only to continue playing how they were.
The second half got underway and it was Loughor who rose to the challenge. With some good goalkeeping from Luke Heath the Teigrod kept Loughor at bay.
On the forty fifth minute after a well executed attack the Teigrods went 2-0 up. Once again it was Teigrods top scorer Lewis Jones who claimed his sixteenth goal of the season.
Substitutes were made by both teams and with five minutes left to play Loughor scored a well constructed goal. The Teigrods held firm until the final whistle. A good game from both teams with some very good passing football.
With the season coming to an end the Teigrods have two games left to play: at home to Johnstown and the J.H Evans Cup Final at Steboneath, Llanelli (home to Llanelli AFC).
Thanks to the subs Scott Jenkins and Shaun Jones. Man of the Match: Rhydian Thomas.(Power of strength in midfield )
Keep it up Boys! What a great season you’re having!
March 14th, Teigrod Teilo 6 - 4 Llanelli Radicals
J.H.EVANS CUP SEMI FINAL
TEIGROD BOOK PLACE IN FINAL
It was a nice sunny morning for a semi final and right from the start the Teigrods meant business. Within the first few minutes they had a some early chances and on the 10th minute after some quick thinking between Sam Rhys and Huw Schofield they took a quick corner and crossed the ball into the penalty area for Lewis Jones to score his first of three.
Shortly after the Teigrods scored a second goal from Captain Cai Davies after some good link up play from the Midfield. Now the Teigrods tails were up and hungry for more and sure enough they scored a third through Rhun Jones.
This stunned Llan Rads going 3 - 0 down, but after the restart they came back into the game and pulled a goal back which was well taken and left the Teigrod Keeper Luke Heath no chance and that’s how it stayed until half-time.
The second half got underway and within minutes the Teigrods broke away out of defence. Eventually the ball fell for Lewis Jones who made it 4 – 1. Surely this game was now out of range for Llan Rads, but that wasn’t to be. They dug there heels in and started the come back and within 15 mins they were back level at 4 -4. It was the Teigrods who were now in shock and with only 10 mins left it was anybodies game with all to fight for. The Teigrods then upped their game and this next goal must be contender for goal of the season when an attack by the Teigrod left Lewis Jones to unleash a thunderous volley on the edge of the 18 yard box into the top corner of the net.
They knew they had to keep the tempo up and sure enough the sixth goal came from Sam Rhys after some good individual skill. This game had everything and at one point could have gone either way but credit must be given to Llan Rads who put up a brave fight.
Thanks to subs Sam Clarke and Shaun Jones who played their part.
Man of The match voted by the players (Lewis Jones Top class finishing).
Next Match away to Ammanford Friday 20th March. Kick off 6.30 pm.
February 28th, Tumble 3 - 1 Teigrod Teilo
TEIGROD TUMBLE AT THE TOP
This top of the table clash encountered some very good passing football. It was Tumble who created the first attacks and who managed to get the first goal. In the fifteenth minute, again with some good play down the left wing, Tumble got a second goal and left the Teigrod stunned. The Teigrod now had to dig deep, and managed to create their own chances. In the twentieth minute they were rewarded a penalty which gave Lewis Jones his chance to score his eleventh goal of the season. He slotted the ball comfortably into the Tumble net.
This lifted the Teigrods who then started to pressure the Tumble defence in search of that equalising goal. Tumble held firm, and just before half time Tumble were given a free kick, which was headed into the Teigrods net giving Tumble their 3 - 1 lead going into the break.
Substitutes were made at half time by both teams, but it was the Teigrods who increased the pressure and had lengthy spells of possession. It was only on a few occasions the Tumble keeper was stretched. The score stayed 3 1 to Tumble until the final whistle.
This was a game that was played by two very good developing sides, with both teams establishing some good passing moves.
Man of the match voted for by the players: Joint Rhun Jones and Luke Heath. Both gave good individual performances.
Thanks to Nice Price News for kit sponsor. Next game for the Teigrods is Saturday March 14th home to Llanelli Radicals in The J H Evans Cup Semi Final.
February 14th, Teigrod Teilo 1 - 4 Tumble
TEIGROD STRUGGLE TO FIND FORM
Teigrod allowed the gap at the top to be narrowed. After some good open play by both teams it was the Teigrods who opened up the scoring with a fine goal by Lewis Jones.
After twenty minutes of play the Teigrod looked in control with some good passing and movement being played by all. Just before half time Tumble scored the equaliser.
At the start of the second half Tumble came out the stronger team and shortly after got their second goal after putting the Teigrods under pressure. Tumble maintained this play and were rewarded with a third goal after some errors in the Teigrod defence.
Teigrods made two substitutions and tried to claw their way back as they had done against Johnstown, but it wasn’t to be. Just before the final whistle Tumble had a fourth goal and finished the Teigrods off.
This was a disappointing day for the Teigrods. Let’s hope their back on form for Ammanford next week in the cup.
Thanks to all the supporters.
January 24th, Johnstown 3 - 3 Teigrod Teilo
TEIGROD SLOW TO START
It has been five weeks since the Teigrod last played a game and it showed in parts of this one. Johnstown started the game better with some good football and were rewarded with the first goal after some hesitation in the Teigrods goal mouth. This spurred the Teigrod boys on to play the passing game they are a accustomed to and creating some good scoring chances.
Shortly after some creative football in midfield, a cross by Tommy Morgan into the Johnstown box was met by Sam Clark who easily scored the equaliser.
With 20 mins gone it was Johnstown who started to pressure the Teigrods defence and soon after a second goal was scored by Johnstown, who were now 2 -1 up.Just before half time they got a third goal.
Second half started and the Teigrods had a different approach and within ten minutes Rhun Jones made one of his individual runs and hammered the ball into the bottom left hand corner, The Teigrods knew they would have to work that bit harder to get something out of this game and that’s just what they did. Tommy Morgan collected the ball on the right wing and with his pace unleashed a shot on goal which beat the Johnstown keeper and levelled the scores at 3 – 3.
This game now had all to play for. Both teams brought on subs to change the game, but a draw it stayed when the final whistle blew.
It was a fair result for the two teams who played some very exciting football and also kept the supporters warm on this frosty morning.
Thanks to the subs Jack & Nathan for there part in the second half.
Man of the match voted by the players Rhun Jones (7) (excellent ball control and a well taken goal).
December 13th, Loughor 1 - 3 Teigrod Teilo
TEIGRODS HARD FOUGHT WIN
The Teigrods travelled to Loughor not having played for nearly a month. With several key players absent with illness this game was going to be a test for the Teigrods.
Both teams started well with some good passing football being played. With the opposition putting pressure on the Teigrods it wasn’t long before Loughor were 1-0 up after a good strike. This was to be the Teigrods wake up call. Once again and with some new players in the starting line it was going to take time for this team to settle. Half way through the first half Charlie Bleasdale began Teigrods first onslaught and passed the ball through the midfield to Sam Clarke who then crossed the ball onto the foot of Lewis Jones, who easily directed the ball into the Loughor net. This made it 1-1 and The Teigrods knew this was the start of their recovery. From then on they attacked the Loughor goal from all angles, with Sam Rhys, Tommi Morgan and Sean Jones all coming close to scoring Teigrods second goal.
With five minutes until half time Teigrod were awarded with a free kick. Charlie Bleasdale took the free kick and powered it at the keeper who failed to hold on to the ball, the ever Hungry Lewis Jones sneaked in and scored Teigrods second. There was jubilation amongst the team and supporters!
Teigrod came out the second half with an unchanged team and with their spirits high they continued to play good football. With some good individual football by Rhun Jones led to Teigrods third goal, after shooting across the goal and being deflected into the Loughor net by one of their defenders. Teigrod made a substitution bringing on Scott Jenkins for Finlay Howells who had made his first appearance for the Teigrods. Loughor also created a few chances but with some solid defending by Jack, Huw and goal keeper Luke Heath they managed to keep Loughors score to only one. Teigrod hit a fourth goal by the ever determined Rhun Jones, but it was deemed offside. The score stayed 3 - 1 to Teigrod until the final whistle.
This was a hard fought game with some good passing football shown by both teams, but with Teigrods determination, they got the three points they were looking to bring home. May it continue for these Boys in 2009!
Joint Man of the Match voted for by the players was Lewis Jones (always hungry for goals) and Luke Heath.
Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
November 22nd, Teigrod 2 - 1 Burry Port
TEIGROD OPEN THE GAP
There was nothing that was going to stop this top of the table battle. Even the weather tried and failed. This was a game that the Teigrod, previously away to Burry Port, came off second best - but have learned from their mistakes. From the kick off they took the game to Burry Port and showed they meant business. Teigrod attacked from both wings and with some good support from midfield, it gave numerous opportunities for the home side to take the lead. In the first 20 minutes, with a great ball from Jack McGready, up to the midfield trio of Rhun, Cai and Sam, created space. With Rhydian making those bursting runs, he collected the ball, and a good one two football with Lewis Jones, he got inside the Burry Port 18 yard box and from an acute angle, slotted the ball past the Burry Port keeper. This put the home side 1 nil up. The team were jubilant!
They knew more goals were required and the Teigrod’s confidence grew. At this point, Burry Port had soaked up a lot of pressure and the Teigrod continued to push forward. With three minutes to go before half time, Sam Rees received an ankle injury and the Teigrod played with 10 men until the whistle blew.
Tommi Morgan came on to replace the injured Sam Rhys and with a few tactical changes by the coaches, Teigrod maintained the pressure on Burry Port. Up to this point of the game Teigrod keeper, Luke Heath, had very little to do. This was also down to good defending by Iago, Charlie, Jack and the ever impressive, Huw Schofield. Again that’s where the Teigrod’s second goal came from down the right wing and a final ball to Tommy Morgan, who unleashed a thunderous drive into the net and put Teigrod 2-0 up. There was sheer joy from the players and supporters. But with 10 minutes left to go, Teigrod remembered the last time they met Burry Port and were 2-0 up. They ended up losing 6-2; a day not to forget! This time it was different. They played the football we are used to seeing them play.
The Teigrod made a second sub, bringing on Sam Clarke, a new recruit to the team. With 5 minutes left Burry Port were awarded a free kick just outside the l8 yard box and with a powerful kick, it left the Teigrod keeper with no chance from preventing the score from rising to 2-l.
With only seconds remaining, Teigrod kept possession of the ball down the lefthand side with another impressive display from Tommy Priestland. The final whistle blew and the players and supporters were delighted. Another excellent display of effective teamwork and individual skills. They are a young and bright squad with a good future together and no doubt will surprise a few on their way. Very well done – keep the momentum going.
Players’ Man of the Match – Huw Schofield (good defending and vision).
Well done Huw!
A big thank you to supporters who were there for the first time and the Ul3 who didn’t have a game.
Thanks to Nice Price News – Kit Sponsor.
Next game: home to Loughor – hope to see you there – should prove to be another good encounter.
November 15th, Teigrod 4 - 1 Camford Rangers
TEIGROD HOLD TOP SPOT
After last weeks cancelled match, the Teigrod were eager to continue in their winning ways. It was Camford who struck the goal first which gave a wake up call to the young Teigrods, and from that point on they took the game to Camford who were slowly being broken down.
Some good play by the midfield strengthened the Teigrods attacks and shortly before half time came the Teigrods equaliser with a beautifully taken goal by Lewis Jones. The Teigrods constant pressure proved fruitful and levelled the scores. That’s how it stayed until half time.
Second half, the Teigrod upped their game play another level and showed why they are contenders. Camford tried hard to break them down, but with the growing confidence of Luke, Huw, Charlie, Jack and Iago (who have become a challenge for the other teams), it passed through the team, which produced further goals, created by good passing and accurate finishing by hat trick Lewis Jones who’s finishing was a sheer pleasure to see, but not before Tommy Priestland also netted for the Teigrods. A mention to the boys who were included in the goals: Cai, Sam, Rhydian and Rhun, who’s midfield work commanded the game.
The Teigrods were now four one up and in control. With ten minutes left Teigrod brought Scott Jenkins and Jack Poulson on who continued to pressure the Camford defence and that’s how it stayed until the final whistle.
A shaky start for Teigrod, but that’s just what they needed. They pulled together as a team and played how they know to, which in turn produced some excellent football and a display of clinical finishing by Lewis Jones who was also voted for by the players as man of the match. Very well deserved Lewis! Thanks to the supporters. Thanks to Nice Price News, kit sponsor.
It’s a big game next week for the Teigrod, with joint top of the table contenders Burry Port at home. This will be one to watch, see you there.
November 1st, Ammanford 2 - 4 Teigrod
TEIGROD DO THE DOUBLE
It was a cold and blustery Saturday morning at Rice Road, and it wasn’t for the faint hearted supporter. Some extensive warm ups were required by both teams. The ref blew for the start of the game and it was the Teigrod who took full advantage of their chances with two great individual goals. With the first goal of his hat trick was from Tommy Morgan, his pace left the Ammanford defence in tatters, followed shortly after was Cai Davies with another great goal, shooting just inside the eighteen yard box and into the bottom left hand corner.
The Teigrod were now moving the ball with confidence and looked certain to further their lead but that wasn’t to be and it was Ammanford who got the next brace of goals. With some good team play and individual skill this gave Ammanford a new lease of life and they continued to push forward. With the new growing confidence of Teigrods defence and goal keeper they were the only two goals Ammanford were to score on this cold morning.
A few tactical changes were made at half time by the Teigrod coaches and this gave more strength in midfield. Teigrod now upped the tempo of the game, creating more space in midfield allowing Sam, Rhun and Cai to distribute defence splitting passes for Tommy, Shaun and Lewis to attempt on goal. Lewis managed to score but was deemed by the referee to be offside. From time to time Ammanford threatened the Teigrod goal but Luke Heath proved it wasn’t to be. It was nice to see Charlie and Jack dominating the centre of defence and a mention to Rhydian Thomas and Tommy Priestland who also did a good job in their defensive roll.
The Teigrod continued to force Ammanford back and another two goals were scored by the energetic Tommy Morgan who completed a great hat trick and Teigrods fourth goal of the day. There was now breathing space between the two teams and with ten minutes to go Teigrod made their first substitution Jack Poulson who was another added strength to the midfield, and that is how it remained to the end of the game.
This was a very good game of football with some great individual skills from both teams. They have to meet again in the cup and for the neutral supporter it promises to be a good game of football. Thanks to Cai Howes for being one of the subs.
Man of the Match voted for by the players was Tommy Morgan (for his blistering pace).
Thanks to the travelling supporters. Next game away to Loughor.
October 25th, Llanelli Radicals 0 - 2 Teigrod
TEIGROD FLYING HIGH
Teigrod are still top of the U12’s and another fine display by all.
A few changes were made to the team because of illness and weekend breaks, but the Teigrod adapted well to changes and warmed to the challenge of Llan Rads away this week. Both teams started very well and had their chances but it should have been the Teigrod who went into half time the better but Llan Rads held it at 0 – 0.
A few words of encouragement at half time by the coaches and as the second half got underway Teigrod upped the tempo and the midfield started to take control. Some good formation play by Rhun, Sam and Tommy Morgan, who was starting only his second game of the season. Also coming in on the right wing was Shaun Jones who is growing more in confidence and involved in some nice passing football.
Teigrod were now increasing the pressure on Llan Rads and with forty five minutes gone Tommy Morgan received a nice pass from the right wing and hammered the ball into the roof of the net. At last the deadlock had been broken and there was jubilation from his team mates.
The Teigrod were now hungry for more and continued to force Llan Rads to defend with shots from Lewis Jones and Tommy Priestland. With ten minutes to go Shaun Jones scored from the most acute of angles across the goal and put the Teigrod 2 – 0 up. Teigrod made two substitutions, Jack Poulson and Nathan Davies who both contributed to the Teigrod result.
A special mention to the defence Huw, Jack, Iago and Rhydian who had dropped back from right midfield to central defence in place for Charlie. The Teigrods’ keeper Luke Heath continues to improve and is becoming difficult to beat and with the defence in front of him Teigrod are becoming a difficult team to break down, hope it continues. You are all working very hard and fully deserved your rewards! Well done again!
Man of the match was split today and voted by the players were Huw Schofield and Shaun Jones.
Thanks to all the supporters.
Next weeks game away to Ammanford, meet at Tregib School 9.30 am
October 18th, Teigrod 5 - 1 Llanelli Radicals
TIGERS TOP THE TABLE
It was a beautiful sunny autumn morning with the sun definitely shining down on the Teigrods. As they did against Camford last week the Teigrods came out accepting nothing less than a victory. Straight from the kick off Teigrod were on the attack with some good footwork from Tommy Priestland creating Teigrod’s first goal, scored by Lewis Jones. You could see the delight from the player’s smiles. Was this going to be their day? Yes, I think it was, in the fifteenth minute after some great midfield work by Sam, Cai and Rhun, gave Rhydian his chance down the right to put a great cross in, only for a Llan Rads player to handle the ball in the penalty area giving Teigrod a penalty. Lewis Jones stepped up to take the penalty and accurately placed the ball in the left hand corner of the goal leaving the keeper no chance. Teigrods were now in control and 2 0 up.
On the twenty fifth minute Tommy scored his first and Teigrods third and that remained the score up until half time.
Very little words needed to be spoken by the coaches during half time, with the last word left to the Captain Cai Davies before the second half started.
It took until the fortieth minute with some brave defending from Charlie and Huw, but wasn’t quite enough to stop Llanelli getting a consolation goal with a deflection off a Teigrod defender which looped over Luke Heath’s head and into Teigrods goal.
At this point Teigrod must have been wondering whether the Burry Port game had come back to haunt them, but it wasn’t to be. Five minutes later, the Teigrods, with some exceptional formational play struck again with a lovely movement and ball passing down the right wing. Lewis Jones played and inch perfect pass to Sam Rhys who calmly slotted the ball into the left hand corner of the net. Tedigrod were now 4 1 up.
Teigrod then substituted Huw Schofield and Iago Dafydd for Scott Jenkins and Jack Poulson who both contributed to Teigrods fifth goal, nicely put away by Captain Cai Davies. This brought a great end to Teigrods day and put them top of the table on goal difference. This is an exciting young group of children, playing some good team football and rising to the challenge. I’m sure these young lads will continue to progress and to do well throughout the rest of the season. Well done to our keeper Luke, who was a tower of strength in goal today. Keep it up! WELL DONE TO ALL THE SQUAD!!
Man of the match : Lewis Jones (2 very well taken goals)
Thanks to all the supporters. Next game away to Llan Rads. Meet 9.20 am Tregib Tennis Courts.
October 11th, Camford Sports 1 - 5 Teigrod
TEIGRODS TRIUMPH
After last Saturdays rest young Teigrods were hungry for a win, which they certainly did in style.
The game started off at a good pace with some strong defensive heading by Jack and Charlie, and it didn’t take long before the Teigrods settled in with their first goal coming from a great run down the left wing from Rhydian Thomas and cutting inside and unleashing a lovely shot which the keeper stood no chance of stopping.
In the twentieth minute Teigrods second goal came from some good midfield play by Sam Rees, Cai Davies and Rhun Jones spreading the ball from wing to wing. Spurred on by their actions Shaun and Rhydian took on the defenders, leaving Lewis Jones to score a nicely directed second goal.Teigrods were now in control of the game and were pushing for a third. They didn’t have to wait too long before Rhydian Thomas scored his second and Teigrods third from a tight angle beating the keeper at his near post. Shortly after the ref blew for half time.
Teigrods came out in the second half as they had finished the first with fire in their bellies. Teigrod defence, (Iago, Charlie, Jack and Huw), keep growing in confidence as is Luke Heath with his great positioning and goal kicking. With this confidence booming it was shortly after Teigrods fourth goal, possibly a contender for Goal of the Season, was scored by Jack McGready a 35 yard shot that looped over the goal keeper. Teigrods still hungered for more. If we thought Jacks goal was a contender for goal of the season then this next one was just the icing on the cake. With a beautiful full volley which was unstoppable as it catapulted past the keeper into the bottom right hand corner of the net. Huw Schofield grinned like a Cheshire cat, as his team mates congratulated him.
Camford had made several changes by this time and from time to time they did cause Teigrod the odd problem and inevitably a penalty was given. On the first attempt at the penalty Luke Heath made a great save but the ref blew and the penalty had to be taken again. We weren’t so lucky this time and Camford managed to get one past us. With ten minutes left to play Teigrod brought on their substitute Nathan Davies who helped the team maintain the upper hand in the closing minutes of the game before the ref blew the final whistle.
Well done Teigrod! Another outstanding display lets keep it up!!!!!
Man of the match: Rhydian Thomas
Thanks to all the supporters. Next weeks game is at home against Llan Rads.
September 27th, Burry Port 6 - 2 Teigrod
TEIGROD LET IT SLIP
It should have been over and done with by the end of the first half for the Teigrod, but with some brave defending by Burry Port they kept it to one goal. What a contender for goal of the season by Rhun Jones, after some good work down the left side from Iago to Tommy and then Sam resulted in Rhun receiving the ball, and say no more, the next place it went was in the back of the net, a delightful chip over the Keepers head, 1 - 0 up. Teigrod continued to search for further goals and chances were being created but they could not get the ball over the goal line and that's how it stayed until half time.
Teigrod had been in this position on their first game of the season 1 - 0 up so they knew one goal wasn't enough and after 7 minutes into the second half Lewis Jones unleashed a thunder shot just inside the 18 yard box which was too powerful for the Burry Port keeper and now it was 2 - 0. Teigrods defence had looked so strong throughout the game with Charlie and Jack winning all the aerial battles leaving Huw to assist Rhydian down the right.
For his second start of the season Shaun Jones linked up well with Lewis and created a few chances.
Luke Heath also made some very good saves and gave Teigrod some opportunities with his kicking. But then with only 43 minutes gone Burry Port responded with one of their six goals and this startled Teigrod.
Shortly after they conceded a second goal it was now time for a substitution and on came Cai Howes to replace Shaun Jones. Teigrod then calmed it down a bit but then the flood gates opened and it wasn't long before another four goals had been conceded it was now 6 - 2 with only five minutes remaining.
Teigrod tried to scrape themselves back in the game but it was too late.
Teigrod made a second sub bringing on Jack Poulson but it was too late in the game to expect 4 goals to be scored and finally the whistle was blown.
How easily it can go the other way as it did today, they worked hard, better luck next game.
Man Of The Match: Tommy Priestland (8)
Thanks to all supporters. Next match away to Pontlliw.
September 20th, Teigrod 6 - 0 Camford Sports
TIGERS UP THE TEMPO
They are getting stronger and more confident but not without a few scary moments, but overall they made it look like a stroll in the park. Rhun Jones opened up Teigrods onslaught with his first of three goals.
It didn't take long before the Teigrods were 2 - 0 up with a well taken goal from new signing Tommy Morgan. There was some good defending and Luke made some excellent saves but he was never really troubled throughout the game.
Teigrods again had a changed side yet their passing, vision and off the ball movement was very good. Lewis made some good runs and worked well with the midfield. Along came the next goal by hard working Tommy Priestland who was playing left back on Wednesday night and continued his hard work in midfield. Confidence was now running high and again with some good work down the right wing by Rhydian who helped to create Rhun's second and Teigrods fourth. Teigrod were now feeling comfortable and in quick succession, substitutes, Nathan Davies and Jack Poulson came on to help strengthen the squad. Shortly after Teigrod scored two more goals Sam Rhys with a delightful side foot and of course the Hat Trick boy Rhun Jones who thoroughly deserved his reward. On reflection of todays game and standard of football especially by the Teigrod, Camford at times played some nice football and could have possibly sneaked a goal but it wasn't to be, the defence saw to that. Well done lads keep going!
Players voted man of the match Rhun Jones (7)
Thanks to all the supporters. Next match Saturday 27th September away to Dafen meet 9.15 - 9.30 am Tregib. Kick off 10.30 am
September 17th, Teigrod 5 - 2 Ammanford
TIGERS FIGHT BACK
And didn't they do that in style, but that wasn't before Ammanford had shown what they can do with two nicely created goals and one nicely finished goal by Liam Danter.
Before the game started Teigrod had made a couple of changes to last weeks formation and introduced to the starting line was Shaun Jones. Shaun was playing up front along side his cousin Lewis Jones.
Teigrod showed good midfield play from Cai Davies and Rhun Jones who commanded the middle of the park feeding the ball from left to right to Sam Rhys and Rhydian Thomas. With Rhydian's pace he easily passed through Ammanfords defence creating many chances but Teigrod never quite found the back of the net.
With renewed vigour and passion Teigrod came back to the pitch for the second half. Within ten minutes Rhun opened the scoring for Teigrod after some superb individual skill. With the floodgates open Teigrod could do no wrong. The net was like a magnet to the ball and another goal quickly followed from Lewis with a nice right footed strike. With Teigrod now on level pegging, Ammanford did their best to take back control of the game.
The Teigrod defence was having none of it. with some superb defending from Huw Schofied, Jack McGready, Charlie Bleasdale and Tommy Priestland, Ammanford failed to get the ball past Luke Heath in goal.
Teigrod upped their play and with Cai Howes strengthening their attack three quick goals followed. Rhun scored his second, his midfield partner Cai scored the fourth and finally five minutes before the final whistle Sam Rhys got the fifth.
A very pleasing result for the whole team, who displayed some excellent football skills.
Thanks to Sott Jenkins for subbing.

September 13th, Camford Rangers 2 - 1 Teigrod
This game does not reflect the score, it could have been game over for camford in the first half after teigrod bombarded the camford goal with an array of scoring opportunities but only came off after 30 minutes with a 1 - 0 lead, the football played leading up to the goal was exciting to watch with Cai, Rhun, Sam, Tomi and Rhyddian controlling the midfield. There were also defending to do and with Charlie and Jack taking charge in the central defence positions this allowed Huw and Iago to push further forward and around the twenty minute mark there were some good footwork by Lewis and after his shot came of the keeper it came to Sam Rhys who picked his spot and lofted a curling ball into the top right hand corner which gave them that first goal they thoroughly deserved and that remained the score until half time.
Teigrod came out the second half in the same spirit and with Camford making a few changes it was'nt long before they were starting to change the game and were gathering speed but some real gutsy defending held them at bay, but then from a corner the ball was defended and fell to a Camford player who's shot deflected over Luke, Teigrods keeper who up to this point had not put a foot wrong which then levelled the scores.
Game on, but shortly after Teigrod suffered there first injury to Lewis who left the field he was replaced by Scott who continued to pressure there defence and then out of the blue Camford struck again with one of there second half substitutions hit a twenty yard shot high above the keeper to make it 2 - 1 to Camford. The game restarted and again a second injury to Cai after clearly being brought down in the penalty by two Camford players and the ref failed to to blow the whistle, and at that point with only five minutes left Teigrods second sub Cai Howes came on and helped the last push at Camfords goal but with it being both teams first season there were some tired legs and Camford managed to hold on to the lead.
This was a very good example of childrens football and some good individual football was shown and todays man of the match was the Captain Cai Davies who for some time has played in the centre of defence but today he played in the midfield role and played with a lot of confidence and vision well done.Teigrods next Game is on Wednesday 17th against Ammanford 6.15 kick off
